The Warmblood Studbook of Ireland (WSI) was approved under European Union and Irish law by the Irish Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food on 18 March 2009 to manage the studbook of the Irish Warmblood horse.

Our mission is to collaborate with breeders to produce international showjumpers. As a studbook we measure our success by the percentage of foals we register that later become international showjumpers.

If you are a breeder who is now breeding, or hopes to breed, international showjumpers we welcome you to join us! We already have members in Ireland, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Poland, Italy, Finland, Canada, the United States, Brazil, Uruguay, Australia, and Dubai, UAE.

Questions about most aspects of WSI (such as how to have your mare inspected or foal registered) can be answered by browsing this homepage and downloading the Rules & Procedures. You may also contact Dawn Kelly, the Studbook Administrator, by sending an email to or by ringing Dawn on 087.222.9701 (+353.87.222.9701).

We look forward to hearing from you!

WSI is a Full Member of the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses (WBFSH).
